Six Flags to operate two theme parks in Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya
Six Flags Entertainment has signed an agreement to manage and operate two major theme parks in Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya development, marking a significant milestone in the kingdom's entertainment sector expansion, officials announced on February 10.
The agreement covers the operation of Six Flags Qiddiya and Aquaribia Water Park, both scheduled to open in late 2025. Six Flags Qiddiya will feature 28 rides and experiences, including Falcon's Flight, which is set to become the world's tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster.
The adjacent Aquaribia Water Park will offer 22 modern water attractions, including the world's longest water coaster and longest double-tailspin slide. The water park will encompass eight themed areas, featuring Surftopia, Saudi Arabia's first wave pool, among other aquatic entertainment facilities.
Abdullah Al-Dawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, said the partnership would enhance the development's offerings and contribute to Saudi Arabia's tourism sector while supporting the kingdom's cultural and economic development.
Six Flags CEO Selim Bassoul described the agreement as a transformative opportunity to bring the company's global entertainment innovations to Saudi Arabia, positioning Qiddiya as a prominent entertainment destination.
Brian McCracker, who has served as CEO of both parks since 2019, will continue to lead the operations under the new agreement.
The Qiddiya project represents a key pillar in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 programme, aimed at diversifying the national economy and creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. The development, representing investments worth billions of dollars, is expected to attract millions of visitors from around the world.
The theme parks have been designed to appeal to both domestic and international visitors, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's position as a leading destination for family tourism and entertainment.
