Sindalah, a pivotal element of Saudi Arabia's ambitious $500 billion "NEOM" project in the northwest of the country, is quickly transitioning from blueprint to reality, as evidenced by the latest images released on March 10.
The released photographs, shared by the project developers, showcase the island resort's rapid development, challenging the sceptics who doubted NEOM's feasibility, even considering the Saudi Kingdom's vast resources.
The recent visuals reveal that the island has moved well beyond the preliminary dredging phase, with the construction of multi-story buildings for accommodations and retail spaces advancing significantly. The installation of windows in these multi-story structures highlights the progress made on the islands.
Accommodation
"Sindalah is set to be home to three spectacular hotels, providing 413 rooms—including 88 villas—alongside 333 serviced apartments. This destination will meld world-class hospitality, exquisite dining, and handpicked events into one perfect location. An enchanting island that vibrates with energy from dawn to dusk, set against a backdrop of awe-inspiring vistas," states the official website.
Aiming to deliver the pinnacle of luxury experiences, Sindalah represents the first tangible glimpse of NEOM. It is envisioned as an unmatched island destination, offering an exclusive entry point to the breathtaking Red Sea.
Designed to cater to the ultra-luxury market and serve as a hub for yachts from the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, Sindalah will emerge as the foremost yachting destination in the Red Sea region, it previously stated.
With reports highlighting its 840,000m² expanse dedicated to the globe's elite, Sindalah transcends the cultural constraints of the mainland. The island is set to feature at least one marina, a golf course—already visible in the recent images—a beach club, and a yacht club, among other opulent amenities.
"Sindalah is pioneering a new paradigm for luxury travel and living, fueled by innovation and sustainability," remarks Antoni Vives, Chief Urban Planning and Islands Officer at NEOM.
Yacht Planning
In November, it was announced that Sindalah had forged a partnership with superyacht service provider Burgess, aiming to deliver a comprehensive suite of services to the island’s yachting community in anticipation of its inauguration later this year.
Jonathan Hind, Managing Director of Burgess Middle East, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "We are thrilled to contribute to this groundbreaking development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at NEOM. Sindalah is poised to fulfil every desire of the superyacht clientele, ensuring an unparalleled experience, with our team ready to make it a reality," as reported by Superyacht News.
