NEOM Introduces Jaumur, a New Luxury Marina Community on the Gulf of Aqaba
NEOM, the ambitious regional development project in northwest Saudi Arabia, has unveiled Jaumur (pronounced Jow-moor), a high-end marina community designed to enhance the area's appeal as a destination for luxury living and tourism.
Situated along the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, Jaumur is poised to become a cosmopolitan hub with over 6,000 residents with yachting as its core focus along with other sports-based locations. It’s the latest project to be announced in the large NEOM project, which spans several projects in the Tabuk region.
The development is structured around a marina, which will include 500 apartments and nearly 700 waterfront villas, each with private mooring facilities primarily targeted at the international market.
Jaumur will also feature two destination hotels offering 350 rooms and suites designed to maximise views of the Tabuk arid landscape.
Aerofoil leads the way
An architectural feature of Jaumur is its 1.5-kilometer aerofoil, a large sculptural structure designed to protect the marina's largest yacht berths and serve as a striking entrance for the arrival of superyachts.
This aerofoil landmark is expected to become the center of the community's social and recreational activities.
In addition to residential and hotel accommodations, Jaumur will host a range of leisure and cultural facilities along its marina promenade, including arts venues, retail stores, and dining options.
The promenade is planned to be a year-round destination for entertainment and cultural events.
The community's focus on innovation is highlighted by the inclusion of a state-of-the-art deep-sea research center dedicated to marine science and conservation.
Furthermore, Jaumur will be home to a top-tier international boarding school, aiming to attract students from around the globe with its progressive curriculum and international faculty.
Jaumur is the latest in a series of developments announced by NEOM as part of its initiative to transform the Gulf of Aqaba into a series of sustainable tourism and residential communities.
The announcement of Jaumur, comes only hours after the announcement of Shura island, a 18-hole golf course.
"Shura Links will provide an unparalleled golfing experience, offering a visually stunning, natural course right here on the Red Sea," said John Pagano, RSG's Group Chief Executive Officer.
