Marriott International to build a New Ritz-Carlton Reserve in NEOM's Trojena
New hotel brand to open in luxury winter mountain resort
Marriott International has reached an agreement with NEOM to inaugurate the second Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudi Arabia, which is anticipated to launch in Trojena, the northwest mountainous area of the kingdom.
Trojena, a key development within NEOM, is designed as a year-round adventure sports destination featuring skiing, water sports, hiking, and mountain biking. The area will also host a range of residential and hospitality facilities, including apartments, chalets, retail spaces, dining, entertainment, and other recreational venues, with a W Hotel and a JW Marriott Hotel in the pipeline.
Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties in Trojena are part of a wider push by NEOM to boost reach in winter sports. Trojena is set to become the first and only winter resort in the Kingdom in the 2027, according to pace of construction.
Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President for Lodging Development in the Middle East at Marriott International, said: "The Ritz-Carlton Reserve's portfolio of select properties offers intimate, transformative experiences founded on sincere care and connection,” he said.
The planned resort will feature 60 villas ranging from one to four bedrooms, alongside a variety of amenities, including a spa, swimming pools, and several dining options.
Philip Gullett, Executive Director and Trojena Region Head, remarked, "Trojena offers a distinct setting, and we are thrilled to have Ritz-Carlton Reserve select our mountains for their next establishment.”
We previously covered this interesting development in our recent blogpost on Trojena, where several artist's impressions were released by the developers.
The developer also released a video of the new development including designs of the exlclusive hotel pods below.
Earlier in March, Trojena Nemnna reported the first winter resort in Saudi Arabia will be completed and ready to open in 2027, before the 2029 Asian Winter Games. This makes it the second NEOM mega project to be launched.
“We have the Asian Winter Games in 2029 but it will be done before that. Our one-phase development will have it done by 2027,” Clark Williams, marketing and communications director of Trojena, told AGBI magazine at the time.
